It’s All Art or No Art, curated by Douglas Lewis, was conceptualized to give art teachers a platform to exhibit their practice outside of educational routines. Teaching by day and creating by night, the eight selected artists who devote their lives to art education and making art, were brought together to exhibit their work. Their artwork deals with a variety of concepts and covers a range of artistic mediums. It’s All Art or No Art includes photography, sculpture, painting, mixed media and installation by some of Beijing’s expat-stars.

Exhibiting artists include: Devin Allen and Richard Todd from the Beijing City International School; Martin Derbyshire and KC Vienna Connolly from Beijing World Youth Academy; Jean Klimack and Douglas Lewis from the Canadian International School of Beijing; Tamara Palmer from The Western Academy of Beijing; and Wang Xinggang from Renmin Dasha.

A One Day Student Workshop coordinated by Tamara Palmer and Richard Todd will take place on September 17. The workshop consists of several hands on activities that will run simultaneously from noon until 4 PM. Workshop activities include: guided tours of It’s All Art or No Art; Q&A with participating artists; and an art making workshop.

It’s All Art or No Art is made possible thanks to support from: Beijing City International School, Beijing Kids, Beijing World Youth Academy, Canadian International School of Beijing, ChART Contemporary, Landgent Center, and the Western Academy of Beijing.
